For the third day in a row, I have a poem published in the truly gorgeous journal Open: A Journal of Arts and Letters. Monday, they posted Imagine This Portrait. Yesterday it was Waterland.
Today is Eurydice. Check it out. It only took me five+ years to write it. This simple lil poem. Hmm. All I can tell you is that it was a hard one for me.

On a related topic. Hahaha, only if all topics relate to cats. Anyway, on a related topic, here is my Tiger Queenie Princess Mimi. I am starting a new hashtag that I want to try to use pretty often because I think it suits me and probably many other people: #poetswithcats
Some of you know, I am trying to reach a publication goal I set for myself for 2019. With 7 journals already publishing my poems and a prose piece in the process, I feel that I am halfway through my goal. BUT THEN WE ARE ALMOST HALFWAY THROUGH THE YEAR. No pressure.

I showed this to my cat Freesia, and she hissed at Tiger Queenie Princess Mimi. We have just lost Lena recently aka Leanie Beanie, full name Little Lanky Lena Lou Longest. Well, we had her 18 years, so thus, all the monikers. Freesis so far is Free–shia, Free, and Freesia (which was her name when we got her, the name of a flower) She is a rescue cat from the local Animal Shelter. She is getting used to her freedom to run/roam the house, something she did not have when Lenie lived here. She is napping at the foot of the bed at the present moment in a grey bed much like the one in your photo.
I was wondering yesterday how you were doing with your publication intent – it seemed to me that is was going rather swimmingly……… Being on track is sure better than being off! Your hashtag suggestion is a great idea – I think a hundred cats will pop out of corners unknown, each one dragging their possibly reluctant, yet poetic owner into pictorial cat heaven!

Wow, I’m totally loving your poems in Open and double wow for all of your recent publications. P.S. Totally jealous of your cat photos. Our cat slinks away the minute I pull out my phone, lol.
Thank you; that means a lot to me! I do pride myself on being a very good cat headshot photographer. You know how some people are really good at doing human headshots? I can really find the personality in the cat face. No money in it. As usual.
