What a great memory And story, Luanne. It brought up all kinds of memories for me as well. Although I did not have my own playhouse that I always wanted, my neighbor had one that looked like an authentic tiny home. Lots of shenanigans took place in there, too. Her age was in between mine and my older sister’s, so we often fought for her friendship and the tiny house. I love the accompanying photos. Congratulations on a great story being published!
Thanks, Cheryl! I’m glad your neighbor had a playhouse. Every neighborhood just needs maybe one playhouse ;). When I was in kindergarten, my grandmother babysat me at her house, and there was a playhouse up the street. It was much more elaborate than mine. It even had gingerbread on it and a Dutch door. I loved that house. Maybe it inspired my dad to build the one he did for me five years later. I would love to read about the shenanigans that took place in your neighborhood playhouse hahahaha.
I’ve written a bit about it, but I think I’ll write an essay. See, Luanne!! You always inspire me.
