  18. I LOVE this post, Luanne! It’s wonderful to see the whole cadre of your feline companions here, from Pear to through Felix and Sloopy Ann to Tiger, Kana, and, of course, Perry. You are so intrepid to get photos WITH their little hats on. So cute! We’re going into a better year with Mittens and Pickles, I think, giving Mittens 1/2 baths so she can be more comfortable with her lack of grooming ability, and giving Pickles plenty of attention when she pesters us for pats. Who are we kidding, they both pester us for pats these days. In fact, I had some colleagues in last weekend and when I mentioned “our cats,” they reacted in surprise, “You have cats?” They’ve never seen them because they skedaddle as soon as anyone unfamiliar shows up. Hah! Got a laugh out of that. 2 minutes after they’d left, here comes Pickles, sniffing and snooping: “Are they gone yet?” So funny.

    • Pickles is a hoot! Mittens gets a lot of attention with those half baths haha! Poor dear. That’s a good thing they didn’t know you have cats. That means they can’t smell cats. 😉 So glad your cats are doing well! Happy New Year, Theresa!

      • Ah! Great point about the lack of smell. We seem to be paying homage to the right gods to avoid cat spit-up these days as well. Phew. I have actually put pillowslips over all of our dining room chair seats because, well, they are white (what was I thinking, it was during our early-marriage Scandanavian furniture phase) and Mittens went through a period of using them to rest her less-than-hygenic backside on (ugh). Keeping the seats and Mittens cleaned up (thanks for the bath suggestion). I know, I know, TMI, I’m afraid, sorry! Oh, the things we go through with our animal companion-friends. 🙂

        • LOL, never TMI when it comes to the furkids! I hear you on the pillowcases. I found another use for them. Mine have a cushioned pee pad for a big dog kennel, and it fits one perfectly, so I keep it out for a cat bed. I’m so glad Mittens is much more “well-groomed” these days hahaha.

          • I like your solution about the cat bed, Luanne! And whew, thanks for the reassurance about over-sharing, Luanne! I started with putting down a towel on the chairs, but I realized that if casual guests saw the towel they would immediately think, Ick! where if they see the pillowcase it’s somehow less immediately icky. For some reason we have a surfeit of pillowcases. Maybe they multiply in the hall linen closet. Hah!

  19. The expression in the cats’ eyes are too funny. Ah, how they put up with us! Here’s to creative expression and fun in 2019!

    • Hahaha, so true, Pam. They look like they have just been put into handcuffs and wonder when they will be released into their cell. Yes, let’s both make 2019 a productive and fun one!

  20. Happy New Joyful Year ✨😀
    Ciao
