The Wonderful Feature Called the Poetry Bookshelf

I hope my American friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was wonderful as my kids took on most of the work, and I got to spend a lot of time with my “best friend,” my little grandson. The gardener and I watched him the day before and the day after the holiday, as well as spending time on Thanksgiving Day itself. The day before we took him to the clock shop because he is passionate about clocks. And he sat down to explore our keyboard.

If you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you still have much to be grateful for.

Enjoy the concert:

One of the Thanksgiving blessings of my life are writing friends and supporters. Case in point: A huge thank you to Editors Juan Re Crivello and Barbara Leonhard for putting my full-length poetry collection Rooted and Winged on the Poetry Bookshelf of LatinosUSA.

If you haven’t read my book, please check out this link if you have the time.

Enjoy your transition time into the holiday season!

P.S. I’m also grateful for decent medical care as I prep for this week’s colonoscopy. Yay!!!

  1. Sounds like you had a perfect Thanksgiving with your little grandson and family! Hubby and I spent a quiet Thanksgiving by ourselves this year, the first time in ages, but it was sweet and savory and I am so grateful that we have each other.

Congrats on the Poetry Bookshelf! Well deserved.

  2. Prayers for your ‘oscopy. Mine found a bunch of ulcers, but I’m especially thankful it eventually led to modern medicine! Your grandbaby is just darling, Luanne.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Luanne. That’s wonderful news about Rooted and Winged! You must be pleased. 😊
I miss when my grandkids were that small. It’s a joy when you can hold them and play with them at that tender age.

    • Thank you, Jennifer! I was just saying to my husband that our grandson is at the best age. (I do think there are several “best” ages). He’s so young and sweet he thinks I am the cat’s meow and wants to cuddle with me all the time. But he’s also old enough to now say, “I need help,” which tickled me to hear.

  4. Good to hear from you again, Luanne, and that you had a good Thanksgiving.

  5. Glad to hear your Thanksgiving was terrific. Time spent with the little ones is good time indeed. I finally reached the age where that colonoscopy prep is a thing of the past. Congratulations on Rooted and Winged.

    • That must have been a great feeling to have a positive on aging out of colonoscopies hahaha! It’s so hideous. I’m also having an endoscopy at the same time, but I keep forgetting that part! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving, John!

  6. How sweet, Luanne. 🧡

  7. I’m glad you had such a good Thanksgiving, Luanne!

  8. That’s one way to get rid of the Thanksgiving meal! I hope they use different tools for the different procedures! 🙂 Wishing you the best. Mine was a month ago. Yuck but I’ve aged out now!

    • You are lucky not to have to go through this any longer. It’s just uck. I hope they do, too. I’m thinking I’m going to feel more beaten up than usual.

  9. What a clever little boy. He had that keyboard worked out in no time flat, even the on/off switch.

    • He is a little electronic genius ;). Several months ago he figured out which cord works with my handheld fan (which he borrows) so he could charge it.

  10. Congratulations on the book. I hope the colonoscopy goes well

  11. That’s quite the ironic send off.😉 Glad to hear you had such a delightful Thanksgiving weekend, Luanne.

  12. Thank you for sharing the video of your grandson’s concert! He is absolutely adorable. I am glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  13. I’m glad you had a lovely Thanksgiving, Luanne. Congrats on all your new publications!!! You’re on fire 😉 Your best friend is so cute. I love that he’s fascinated by clocks. It reminds me of when my first grandniece was a toddler and took ahold of Greg’s camera and started trying to figure it out. It made Greg a little nervous (lol) but she was really fascinated by it.

My last colonoscopy was when I was 65. They said my next one will be when I turn 75. Yeah. Not going to happen. By that time of my life, que sera, sera.
