This is so powerful. 😢 I’ve shared it on FB.
Thank you so much Ellie… I wish everyone who read these facts would do the same… so thank you again
Thank *you* for putting those eloquent words out there!
Thank you Luanna, I’m delighted of course.. I wish all the people who ‘enjoyed’ this blog also re-blogged it and spread the awful word !!!!
Wow — eye-opener. thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome. Yes, it is!
So hard to read – sad, intense, but it needs to be shared. THANK you. xo
Valerie is a rockstar for the animals!
Luanne, so sad to read this and how special of you to make sure we realize animal cruelty continues, testing, proving and studying while not necessarily loving and caring for the animals like Wenka. Such a long life with less enjoyment and much pain in her life.
Thank you to Valerie Davies! I appreciate your caring enough about the chimp named Wenka and telling her poignant story. So sad. . .
It breaks my heart. I love that Valerie is able to write so eloquently about the plight of animals under human dominion.
I get teary eyed often over animals which are neglected or abused, Luanne. I feel my heart break, too.
It is such a shame that there have been many animals killed in hunting not used for food purposes. Also, it upsets my stomach to think about seals (babies, too) being beat. . . Enough description because you are aware of these! Take care and try not to get upset since we do the best we can! hugs xo
I know!!! My email is flooded everyday with sad stories and petitions to sign! xoxoxo
It is overwhelming at times, Luanne! I am sympathetic of your causes and receive similar petitions. Let’s remain peaceful and try to be supportive of each other. xoxo
I agree xoxoxoxo.
Yes! We must be constantly informed to be good participants in advocating for the voiceless animals, Luanne. xo
Thanks for sharing this piece, Luanne. I appreciate your ongoing concern for animals. Blessings to your cats!
Thank you, Carla xo!
Thank you for sharing. I’ll admit I couldn’t read all of Valerie’s post. There’s a point at which my heart and stomach start to turn on each other in grief and anger. But I’m glad you shared it and I appreciate all you do on behalf of animals. In my small way, I try to help by buying from companies that pledge not to do animal testing. There’s just absolutely no need for animals to be used in experiments.
Thank you for paying attention to which companies test on animals! That is so helpful. I agree with you about how awful it all is. When the ASPCA commercials come on TV I cover my ears and close my eyes and make loud sounds until the gardener nudges me that it’s over.
Yup, I read the labels. Seriously, I don’t need my deodorant tested on animals!
It’s so ridiculous. We are such a stupid species sometimes.
Indeed. We consider ourselves “exceptional” and sometimes I think that means exceptionally stupid 😉
YES!
Poor chimp! We as humans should know better and treat animals with respect and kindness! http://wp.me/p5IK2v-1o
