Micro Memoir at MasticadoresUSA

So thrilled that Editor Barbara Leonhard Harris has published a micro memoir in MasticadoresUSA that I wrote about my maternal grandfather.

Grandpa lived in Kalamazoo his entire life and was not raised as a farmer. He owned a Sunoco Service Station and kept a tiny garden out back, as well as one in his backyard. The house was just down the block from the business. After my grandparents retired and moved to a newer neighborhood, my grandfather put in a very big garden where he labored for hours every day. My grandmother helped pick the harvest and cooked with the fruits of his labor.

Then one day the house was sold and my grandparents moved to a retirement apartment.
