Luanne Castle’s poetry chapbook Our Wolves (2023) was a Best Book Finalist. Her 2022 poetry collection Rooted and Winged was a Book Excellence Awards Winner. Her chapbook of poetry and flash nonfiction, Kin Types, was a finalist for the 2018 Eric Hoffer Award. Her first collection of poetry, Doll God, winner of the 2015 New Mexico-Arizona Book Award, was published by Kelsay Books. Luanne has been a Fellow at the Center for Ideas and Society at the University of California, Riverside. She studied English and Creative Writing at the University of California, Riverside (PhD); Western Michigan University (MFA); and Stanford University (Certificate). Her Pushcart, Best Small Fictions, and Best of the Net-nominated poetry and prose have appeared in Copper Nickel, TAB, Verse Daily, Saranac Review, Bending Genres, The Ekphrastic Review, One Art, Sheila Na Gig, Feral Poetry, MacQueen’s Quinterly, Does it Have Pockets, South 85, Roi Fainéant, River Teeth, The Dribble Drabble Review, Flash Boulevard, and many other journals and anthologies. Luanne lives with five cats in Arizona along a wash that wildlife use as a thoroughfare.
