Doll God is a Finalist!

Yesterday I opened an email listing the Finalists for the New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards and dismally scrolled through it, sure that Doll God was overlooked.

But it WASN’T! It’s a Finalist! That was really wonderful news to get at the end of the week. Buy it here haha:

A week that has been a little rough. Remember my dear Nakana I brought home from the shelter two months ago? Suddenly her liver values have jumped dramatically. That apparently is BAD in cats. More tests on Monday . . . .  Please send prayers or good vibes for her, if you are willing.

My sweet cat

  19. Luanne, so sorry for your Nakana having high liver values. She is a sweet, calm and lovable cat who looks regal in her photograph. Of course, I will be happy to keep you, hubby (I still worry about his good challenges) and Nakana. ♡

Luanneskihead –  A million congrats on having Doll God on the Finalist list!  Just terrific!!   Am sending loving prayers and thoughts and vibes for Nakana’s health…may she not suffer… Warm hugs and much love, Jody (Jamming on Dry Water, Blue Clouds; trying to figure out ‘narrative voice,’ just began my one-on-one mentorship with Otis)  xx

  21. Congratulations on Doll God becoming a finalist. I hope your cat feels better soon.

  22. Congratulations on “Doll God”! That’s great news. 🙂

Two of my cats had fatty liver disease. One, we did not catch early enough, and she passed away. The other, we recognized the symptoms and, with a lot of perseverance and a great vet, she pulled through. She lived to be about 17, and died of natural causes/old age one evening. I’m sure your beautiful Nakana can pull through too.

  23. Well done, Luanne. And I hope Nakana picks up soon. xxx

  24. Congrats, Luanne! Well-deserved. xo

  25. Congratulations … again!! Such great news and such sad news. I am hoping and praying and keeping my fingers crossed that whatever Nakana has is easily treatable.

  26. One word Luanne Yay!
