New Poems Up at Sheila-Na-Gig Online

Grateful to Sheila-Na-Gig online journal and editor Hayley Mitchell Haugen for publishing two of my wolf poems. These poem are not in Rooted and Winged, but rather in a future project. I really love these poems (haha) and hope you do, too.

Both poems are “how to” poems:

*”How to Make a Hand Shadow Wolf”

*”How to Digest the Wolf”

Two Poems at Sheila-Na-Gig

I hope you’re having a lovely holiday weekend and that you join me for the Rooted and Winged blog tour beginning September 15.

  1. These are such fun! I can tell that you gleefully sculpted them.

  2. Love those how-tos! I love the pairing of the milder and wilder poems.

  3. Wow, Luanne! I just read both poems. Absolutely wonderful poems!

  4. You have some pretty wild ideas there, Luanne. Lots of fun.

  5. On my way to read the poems!

  6. For me, “How to Make a Hand Shadow Wolf” turns on “You’re in charge.” “How to Digest a Wolf” hit me like a kick in the gut.

  7. Wolf poems intense, Luanne. Made me shiver and shake, woke me out of a mental slumber.
    Good for you!
    Keep at it.

  8. Congratulations. One poem delightful; one terrifying

  9. Whimsy blended with horror. Very well done, Luanne!

  10. Congratulations on the poems, Luanne. I agree with Derrick. Though I think both are sides of Little Red. How to Digest the Wolf hit me so hard. I can’t imagine dealing with that, and I’m glad I never had to–but too many do.

  11. Congratulations on your poems!!!

  12. Amy

That second poem gave me the chills. Really powerful and creepy. And the first made me want to get up off my butt and try it!

  13. What a wonderfully playful imagination you have, Luanne. Congratulations.

  14. Congratulations on the publication of your recent poems, Luane! I enjoyed reading them.
