I do have an update on my cat Tiger and the test for pancreatitis. Her test is at the very high end of normal. That result, coupled with her other out of whack test results could mean that she has an inflammation of the pancreas. The question is whether she has an inflammation that can improve, but has started a slow decline (kidney disease, for instance) because of her age (15)–or if it’s the beginning of a very serious disease. She is asking for prayers and healing vibes. OK, I am asking on her behalf, but she does want them!

I was thinking about you yesterday, Jill. The huge lobby are of the Kimmel Center has a sort of playground (swings with virtual headsets) and there are table that had games and jigsaw puzzles! I wondered if anyone came in and just sat there all day working on a puzzle. 🙂 Hope you feel better soon!
LOL! I would definitely be one of those people who would sit there are day working a puzzle, Merril. Working the puzzle doesn’t hurt my eyes like the computer. 🙂 Thanks for the well wishes. I think my eyes are drying out into dust!

It’s so hard when our fur babies are ill. They can’t tell you what they want you to do so I’m just sending good vibes and prayers. I love the idea of writing stories in support of rescue shelters. I’ll have to figure out how to get a copy as I love stories with animals in them. It seems they aren’t sold through Amazon. ;(
The package will be sold on Amazon in April. IN the meantime, you can buy through Barnes and Noble (not sure if that’s only for the Nook or can be used by other devices) or iTunes through Apple to use on phones, ipads, etc. There are some other places through the link I posted here, but I am not familiar with them.

Diving into the Wreck has always been a favorite. I’m not familiar with some of these poems, so I will go back and read them.
Tiger is in my prayers, and I’m sure Bootsie, Sylvie, Penny, and Flora are remembering to pray, too. They all have different methods of prayer as they belong to varying religious affiliations (I know it’s strange, but true!). But I know they’re praying for Tiger. Our minpin, Demi, had chronic pancreatitis. I sure hope for the best for your kitty.

Yay Miss Tiger! Our Mittens has been seen attempting to groom her nether half recently, so that’s a good sign. We still do the half-baths, as her size precludes her being able to do the full grooming. 🙂 Thanks to you for suggesting it!

Well, it’s funny because she tries but can’t quite reach certain places … and then she mildly de-furs the substitute places as a result of the grooming instinct. We’re keeping going with our part, though. It’s a challenge for all of us. 🙂

I hope Tiger’s doing well! Our Daisy cat actually became more ill, so we chose to do the humane thing and end her suffering. I’ve never had to do that before. At least we were with her in the end.

Thank you–I sure hope so! It continues to be weird here. Isn’t Felix a hoot? He keeps a lot to himself, but sometimes he’s just gotta let it out. The gardener glued the lamp and you have to look right at it to see the crack because it’s a patterned base! Hope your week is going well!
He was wonderful. I’m soooo glad to hear about the lamp-gluing success. It reminds me, we had a broken-bowl occurrence a couple of months ago, one of those “kid-handprint” bowls that I did with Erica at a professional ceramics place back in ’98 when she was 4. It’s a large serving-bowl with her handprint in the middle and my careful lettering around the edge of her name and the year. The bowl was dropped on our hard-surface countertop and the center remained intact, but the sides broke into pieces. My husband is also a gluer-extraordinare, and he carefully re-assembled it, and it looks fine enough, though you can see all the cracks, it’s that white-clay ceramic they have in pottery places. However, just after I read an article that mentioned the Japanese concept of embracing breaks or age-related defects in objects, as an indication of how long you have enjoyed them and what the objects have done for your family. I decided, then, just to try enjoying the item without rueing it got broken. 🙂
I am having a problem with my iPad. I responded to all three of your comments on thursday, and when I check today my comments are not there. This has been happening with more frequency. I suspect that the iPad goes in and out of connection and when I think I’ve posted it hasn’t really “taken.” So frustrating.

It’s a botch of a quote from Leonard Cohen, although he’s not the first one with the idea. “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in” from “Anthem.” It would be interesting to research the idea and how many places it comes from!

And yes, at first I was really disappointed to see the cracks in Erica’s hand plate. One of those things that you’ll never replace since they were a child when it was done. But now I’m feeling more calm about it and when I look at the cracks I think, “history.” And history reminds me of you, too! 🙂

Thank you, Linda! She still is too skinny, but not as skinny, and acts hungry sometimes when she shouldn’t, but she doesn’t act sick, so I am hoping that she is actually getting a little better.
