Melissa Lemay gave the #TankaTuesday prompt this week. She introduced a new form based on pi (3.14). The Pi-Ku is a tiny poem structured as 3 syllables, 1 syllable, 4 syllables.
Here are my three seasonal pi-kus for Arizona in September.
The first one focuses on how the sun is a little more playful than in the summer when it mercilessly beams down all day on everything under it.

sun
comes out to play
This second one I wrote after I heard the birds talking about getting reading to go south to Mexico for the winter.
busy birds
chat
then head due south
This third one reminds us that we still have nice weather here in Phoenix. To find winter faster, you have to climb high up in the mountains where it is “winter” much earlier than on the desert.
